Hello! I’m Alethea (Inkeater), the artist behind Inkeater Originals. Growing up, I immersed myself in the strange and wonderful world of The Twilight Zone and Creepshow, always embracing my inner weirdo. My love for all things quirky was nurtured by my grandpa, who had a knack for sending the most peculiar yet delightful surprises in the mail. From autumn leaves to bizarre newspaper clippings, his whimsical packages never failed to spark joy and curiosity.
But the story doesn’t end there. My Abuelita was probably my biggest fan and encourager/benefactor, from crocheting to sewing to building our own doll house/furniture, and picking up more hobbies than I can possibly explain. She was always there to help me experiment with all sorts of creative ideas. Alongside my mom’s craft cart filled to the brim with all kinds of weird supplies, they allowed me to embrace my inner weirdo at a young age and encouraged it. I think my favorite memory growing up with my Abuelita was whenever I showed her something cool I found, her response was always, “Why buy it? Let’s try to make our own version.” This sentiment is embodied within Inkeater Originals.
Inspired by these cherished memories, I created Inkeater Originals to share the same sense of wonder and eccentricity through my art. What started as a personal tradition of crafting unique greeting cards for friends and family has now blossomed into a full-fledged shop where you can find a collection of quirky art, alternate cards, apparel, and more.
